The Mercedes 300SL Gullwing. An instant classic for 58 years and running.
Yes very nice, only a German car could last so long.
Love that car.
As beautiful today as it was 58 years ago. Quite a design accomplishment.
There is a white one that I see from time to time at our building. I can’t believe how tiny it is compared to a ‘modern’ car. Absolutely beautiful car and wonderful to see it driven other than just sitting in a protected bubble somewhere.
Dave, where are you located?
Burlington MA, I kinda know the owner. Quite the collector, old 356C’s split window vette’s etc. Bought the gulfwing from a guy that had it sitting in his living room for 11 years as a piece of art. Red interior, just wonderful. I used to work for a guy who would drive his ‘73 daytona to work more or less daily. We all thought he was crazy.
Jason, beautiful car. Great story as well, reminds me of this video: http://bit.ly/KG1mt8
