I *will* bench 300 in 2003.

To continue to hate Muslims... and Somalians. Shave more often. Lose 10 pounds and dress a little nicer for work.

Make a world-famous weblog and then repeatedly publically humiliate myself in it.

I plan to bench 300 muslims, dress Somolians better, and loose 10 pounds through public humiliation at work.

"Go ahead and make fun. I'm the one who's gonna be on TV, lookin' all buff!"

I vow not to visit a gym again. At all. In my life. Yay for cancelled memberships and slacker liberation!

I also promise to go karting more often cos it's just the best damn fun to be had for $20 a shot. Ok, the second best. ;)

In 2003 I'll stop whining about the way my life is going, and start doing something about it. Naaa, I'm too lazy... I'll go with the flow.

Guess I'm the only one who takes year-end self-evaluation and forward goal-setting seriously.

I don't "do" the resolution thing. I set goals. I achieve goals. Damn ... why do I all of a sudden feel like Tony Robbins?

Seriously; what are your *real* goals for 2003? I'm genuinely interested.

The double-post monster strikes again!!

well, a real goal is to really get on target for retirement. I'm sick of working and I plan on retiring by 50.

Post here more often :)

To buy a mac and throw this damn PC out the window!

Darrel -- I was planning to retire at 50 -- I'm 43 and it's looking good, actually -- but then a friend reminded me that I'd then have to spend *all* my time with my dear bride. I love her ... but 24/7? Please.

Ha! Good point, Don.

To be fair, I wouldn't stop working, I'd just be doing my own thing. Whether it made money or not.

And good luck on hitting the retirement mark. We work way too much in this country.

To me, a good barometer of "retirement" is this: Do I awake to an alarm clock or not? I long for the day when I don't use an alarm clock any more.

(And, yes, I'm one of those "driven" types that sleeps in until 6 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday but still uses the alarm; so much to do!)

how did I know that Don would be filling up this entire space? ;-) We need more people like you Don. I didnt want to admit it in the beginning, but youre starting to grow on me. I hope you reach your 50 goal.

alright, these are my first four resolutions:

1. reduce my non-furniture possessions to a carload.
2. leave my furniture with a good home.
3. move Somewhere Else.
4. keep my resolutions.

yeah, my only question is ... do you think telling other people about your resolutions makes 'em less likely to actually happen?

Alisha, that's very kind of you ... exactly what I'd expect from you.

Actually, I think most of the folks that hang out around here are "good people" who disagree from time to time.
