The soccer moms are not happy about Scott Stapp’s performance with Creed in Chicago the other night. Sounds entertaining to me though.
I just simply could not believe what I was seeing before my eyes. Drinking, stumbling on stage, garbling lyrics, lying on the floor and sitting on the drummers platform singing, throwing microphones, walking off stage, and most importantly the lack of respect he showed for his fans and band members, especially Mark Tremonti. It was so obvious that Scott was not sick with the flu, but drunk and perhaps high on something as well. I think it is very sad that my son and other younger children had to witness Scott’s performance and behaviors. All who attended the Creed concert last night are due an explanation.
"Can you take me higher...NO! Scott Stapp was drunk as a skunk and that made for a very bad time. "
sarcasm!
If I was the type of person that liked pop-rock bands like Creed, then I would be pissed at that performance too.
But uhm, I'm not and wouldn't have gone to that show in the first place.
Nothing bothers me more than a person complaining about the very culture that they chose. ARGH!
You never heard me complaining about the performance of "The Nutcracker" that I attended two weeks ago -- Moscow Ballet at the Morris Mechanic Theatre at Baltimore.
You want loud, obnoxious rock-n-roll? Take what comes with it. What's so hard to understand?
I think the issue is that Creed, or probably more accurately their record company, have really marketed them as a "clean" band, bordering on the edge of Christian at times. So yeah, a soccer mom who takes their kid to see Kid Rock would have no business complaining, but the "typical"
rock and roll behavior is not what they are expecting when they go to see Creed.
Anyone who is moronic enough to a) actually like Creed, and b) shell out the bucks to go see them at a venue ruled by Clear Channel Entertainment, Inc., and also one with the shittiest acoustics in Chicago (with the possible exception of the Aragon), deserves to see Mr. Christian Virtue Himself, that Jesus Christ-posing jamoke Stapp, stumbling around onstage parading his hypocrisy. What an asshole. And, to paraphrase the first commenter, allow me to say "Creed blows donkey dicks in hell." They are possibly the worst band on the planet.
These comments are just full of class eh. Is it fun to critisize 13 and 15 year olds for their taste in music? If your kid was asking you to go see a concert would you slam him because his taste in music sucked? I'd rather be a soccer mom enjoying time with her kids than a shallow, mudd-slinging, know-it-all.
Have a nice day...
Creed is one of my favorite bands. That will be hard to change, but my image of Scott Stapp as a role model and a really great vocalist ran right out the door on this one. I have yet to see them in concert, and am now in hesitation. I hope they apologize, refund for the concert, or atleast go back to Chicago and put on a show of a lifetime for all those loyal fans out there that wont let Scott's drunkeness get in the way of there great taste in rock music.
Weve always known creed was hypocritical...thats what makes em so good...and all you f*ckers out there think twice about callin' them a christian group.
I think everyone in life, at one time or another, has been hypocritical in some way. So I don't think that subject should even be touched. And also, Creed never claimed to be, and never musically implied that they were perfect, or flawless. No one is. I think there will be an explanation coming. And until that happens, it is wrong to just start trashing them (or Scott Stapp). If there is no explanation given, then have your "open season" on whoever you want.
Bah, at least you who went to the show got to see your favorite band play. I live over here on the west coast, and wanted to see Blind Guardian play, but they didn't make it. Their bus broke down in Washington, so they skipped the SF show. I was so broken after that. Sure, they refunded my $15, but what's $15 compared to a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see your favorite band? Not to mention, I had to buy the gas to get down there and back (170 miles or so either way). At least I got to see Symphony X, though that was little consolation.
Hell, I wouldn't mind if Hansi (the vocalist of Blind Guardian) were drunk, but I don't think he would be. Oh well, maybe I'll catch them when (if) they tour again.
Don't drink and sing!
I think this so called "soccer mom" had right to say what she said. I mean, all you jacka$$es who don't like Creed, keep your mouth shut b/c they are awesome and just because EVERYONE doesn't like the music that you do, you don't have to say something about it. And for the mom, let your kids like whatever music they want, because if you try and take music away from them, they will rebel
I think that Scott Stapp was in fact DRUNK OFF HIS ASS!
I went to that concert and it stunk bad! I wanted my money back after seeing the terrible performance ! I have loved creed for 3 years and i have never seen Scott act that way in a concert or any other time I have seen him!
I think Creed is an awesome band and any of you pricks out there who say s**t about them can kiss my a**!!
I have been a creed fan since they started and I think they are a one of a kind band and especially Scott he has the most unique sounding voice I have ever heard. I was able to attend a concert and I thought their performance was absolutely incrediable! I think there will be an explanation given for the reason Scott was not acting like himself not that he owes anyone an explanation to begin with afterall he is only human and I don't see any of you having to give an explanation for every questionable thing you have done. Scott has already been through so much in the past couple of years and he really hasn't taken the time to let himself heal to me that just goes to show you his loyalty to his band and his fans! To all of you who are contimplating on going to a creed concert DON'T they are awesome and have always put on a great show despite their ONE bad show in Chicago. Everyone just needs to drop it and give him a break! My best wishes goes out to Scott and his family!!
Scott rocks! Rock on, bud.... No one has the right to rag on anyone. There's no problem here. Get drunk, fall over, no problem. Get over it.
I heard Stapp was going to release an album with Ludacris.
stapp is an excellent vocalist, period. ups and downs aside, i think we should chalk it up to life experience and assume the brotha slows down and reflects a little more on what direction he's heading. peace out
if you really like creed, go ahead and email me i have some pretty mind blowing creed related work to share lol
i havnt seen my favorite band, creed, live. Sure, the concert wasnt good, but creed members ar just humans.
weren't they a christian band?
