Stock Chart Battle

26 Mar 2003 by

eBay vs. the NASDAQ, the DOW, and the S&P 500. One of them has performed incredibly well over the last year. Actually, the big 3 .com’s have all done really well over the past 12 months (especially compared to the NASDAQ).

Let's all take a moment to grief the passing of one of the world's great logos.

I like the new UPS logo. No, it's not the Rand classic, but it's a modern update with elements of history.

The new logo's hideous, in my opinion. Looks like a freshman graphic design student's project.

Poked around a bit on the preview of the new UPS site. Nice to see after all these years that they finally realized that the huge, overwhelming majority of people who come to ups.com want to track a package, so they finally put tracking on the home page. Always thought it was monumentally stupid that you had to click to get to tracking. We'll see if they managed to fix the other stupid thing with tracking: when you enter a number and then hit the "enter" key, UPS activates the "enter more tracking numbers" link instead of the "track your package" link.

Interesting. I wonder if eBay has Andrew Carlssin working for them.

Haha. I read that Andrew Carlssin story and was really spun until I saw who published it.

I am sorry to say that if this man is really from the future, then we must feel a tinge of sadness to think that people are still as greedy and exploitive in 200 yrs. PLus, there are better ways to become rich without the stock market, if I was from the future, I would simply buy a dozen pieces of art from the "Picasso or Van Gogh" to be. Right now you could probably walk away with a number of future classics at bargin prices. But to think some guy from the future would find meaning in playing in the stock market when there are better sights to see (like the building of the pyrimids for one example) is absolutely mundane.

Has the eternal question been answered? is time travel possible? Wouldn't it be a wonderful thing if it was true! But have we not learned anything from Hollywood? Look what happened to Marty and Dr. Brown, what if we break the time space continuum! The money thing would have been a real tempting thing to go and do, 250 million in a fixed term deposit for 200 years. But wouldn't you want to know if there was a second gunman on the grassy knoll? Tell Elvis to lay off the medication and burgers? Shoot Hitler's parents? The possibilities are endless when you think about what you could do? Hopefully he did some other stuff, before he feathered his own nest and played the stock market, I guess we'll never know?????
