Born 7:31 AM (almost in a cab — or so the story goes), April 7, 1974.
Here’s to the last year of my 20s. It’s going to be a good one. (April 7th is also the birthday of: Russell Crowe, John Oates, Bill Bellamy, Jackie Chan, Francis Ford Coppola, Jerry Brown (the mayor), Tony Dorsett…)

Happy Big Almost Three-Oh Jason! I just turned the big Two-Oh last week, and I must say, being in my twenties is definitely cooler than being a teen haha ;)

Congrats JF! You know what they say, the ones born with a story will live out a story... (okay, not many people say it, but hey)

and you know what they say about people who are born (almost) in a cab! What? That they were conceived in a cab?

Happy b-day. Get yourself something nice.

Next year you will be let in on the big secret, and no one will trust you anymore (well, mostly those people under 30).

Happy birthday. Congrats on getting through the 29th birthday. That was the worst one I had - got my angst over turning 30 out of the way with the "oh my god I'm almost 30" routine.

The 30s are great, by the way.

Happy birthday, pally! Known you since what, 6th grade? You introduced me to Pink Floyd(every time I hear Delicate Sound of Thunder I think of your house). Had my first drink of Jack Daniels from Stu's liquor cabinet. Driven home by the fuzz because I got sick on Da Bear(Kodiak) with you. Halloween insanity.

Here's to many more good times, great years and to the confusion your enemies.

Just had my 30th on the 23rd. I can't nearly drink as much as I used to. That's been the big difference.

Crikey! I meant to put in this link in my post above. I had copied it after I put in the link directly to Amazon, and forgot to change it.

This is much more poignant.

Maybe this will be the year you will get out of your mother's basement?

I too just turned 29. This is the year where nobody believes your age.

"how old are you?"
"29."
"hehehe, no, really, how old are you?"
"29."
"you're funny. buy how old are you really?"
"29..."

JFR - you wouldn't happen to have any yearbook pictures you could scan and post of our beloved JF would you? I am particular interested in the 7th and 8th grade photos - or as i call them, the "wonder years".

Hmmm. Is that why I always gravitate to JF's posts? I was born a mere 13 hours prior to the spectacular "almost in a cab" event.
(Happy BD JF.)

I really felt much more comfortable at 27 I've decided. Twenty-nine just brings the awkward conversations of "almost 30", "now that we're 30... etc. And I just don't really feel ready for that.

(p.s. You might share April 7th with Bill Bellamy - but I, my friend, was born exactly 100 years after Houdini.) (And the crowd goes wild...)

At WWDC, I listened to Apple representatives make some excellent points about taking the time to build a 100%-compliant Aqua application, and I think all developers need to look beyond the code and listen to what the folks at Apple have to say
