When it’s time to relax, where do you go and what do you do?
In the evenings, I like to retreat to my backyard chimenea with a glass of wine or bourbon and a couple of premium cigars, and watch the heavens. Last night: seven satellites and one shooting star.
Point of Clarification: For those of you who live in big cities, stars are these things up in the sky, really high up, that look like little points of light against the blackish-blue backdrop of Space.
Oh; I didn't mention that I saw the coveted "Iridium Flash" ... or something similar. Lasted about three seconds.
Nothing melts the stress away like a few hours on Isle Delfino
Lately, I've been visiting a disc golf course near my house after work. An hour of chasing my discs through the woods is a great stress reliever. it probably helps that I leave my cell phone in the car too.
matt: Whee, that's right. :)
working out is relaxing to me. my brain doesn't need to do anything, and afterwards it feels even more relaxed (and more importantly, less stressed).
I get in the car and drive. Done it for years. (A benefit of living where there's not a ton of traffic I guess.) Something about the tires on the road makes me relax. Now I usually head out to the lake, pull over for a few minutes and just breathe. (Use to light up a cigarette, but now I just breathe.) No matter how stressed I am, a few minutes in the car with the right song on the stereo and the tension slips away.
Sitting on the back verandah, watching the ducks swim around....yeah.
I knit... So sue me.
Walking around looking at people...... inspires new ideas and new ideas always makes me forget the old ones which I'm stressed about (for a little while at least).
