A half-year-old but beautiful article. Just a dream?
Yes, it's just a dream because the current US government is not interested in peace. They all work / have worked / plan to work for big defense contractors. Is a simple scheme: First you make the policy, then you go work for the company that benefits from the policy.
Carlyle Group documentary (a must see! It's in English with dutch subtitles.)
For those that don't know the Carlyle group, Paul Krugman of the New York Times writes:
"Carlyle specializes in buying down-and-out defense contractors, then reselling them when their fortunes miraculously improve after they receive new government business. Among the company's employees is former President George H. W. Bush. Among the group's investors, until late October, was the bin Laden family of Saudi Arabia.
Another administration would have regarded the elder Bush's role at Carlyle as unseemly; this administration apparently does not. And Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld recently gave his old college wrestling partner Frank Carlucci, head of Carlyle, a very nice gift: Mr. Rumsfeld decided to proceed with the much-criticized Crusader artillery system, which even the Pentagon wanted to cancel. The result was another turnaround for a Carlyle-owned company."
I tried to read the article, but I was distracted by the unfortunate use of the term "intelligent design." That term is used by those who were formerly known as Creationists to describe their dismissal of Darwin. I'm sure the authors didn't intend this confusion, but the dissonance between what we designers try to create and what those Know-Nothings try to pass off as science was too much for my concentration.
bocigalingus must be something funny.
