Jesper asked. I answered. A little “Under the Iron” interview with yours truly. Here are the other interviews in the series so far. Thanks for asking me to be a part, Jesper. Good luck with your future interviews.

Nice to learn more about you and about the history of 37signals.
Since you're into minimalist approaches and you mentioned a yen for cooking, and since it's Friday, here are two incredibly delicious and simple recipes that require nothing more than good ingredients and a few minutes of prep time:
1. Spaghetti with Peccorino and Black Pepper
Cook some Italian spaghetti (De Cicco is a good brand; don't use fresh pasta for this recipe, dried is better) until it's just al dente. While the spaghetti cooks, grate some Peccorino cheese with the fine side of your grater -- this is a hard cheese with a much stronger flavor than Parmesan; it may be difficult to find if you don't have Italians in your neighborhood but it's vital to this recipe. Grate a generous quantity, 1/3 cup or so.
When the spaghetti's done, drain it and toss with a bit of olive oil. Put some on your plate, add a big helping of the grated Peccorino, and grind some black pepper on top. Stir the cheese and pepper into the pasta and enjoy. This is easily my favorite pasta dish -- utterly minimalist and unbelievably tasty.
2. Strawberries with maple syrup and balsamic vinegar:
Get a pint of good, ripe strawberries. Hull them and put in a bowl. Drizzle one teaspoon of real maple syrup (grade B has the best maple flavor but may be hard to find outside of New England) and one teaspoon of good-quality balsamic vinegar. Stir and let sit for 10 minutes or so.
Finish up with a good cup of white tea or Oolong from In Pursuit of Tea, which I learned about from you, right here on SVN.
Sounds like an excellent meal.
I'll go you one simpler and incorporate ingredients from dinner and dessert.
Slice relatively-thin bits of the cheese onto a plate. Douse with balsalmic vinegar. Eat the cheese (with fingers, of course) after it soaks for a minute or two.
That's it.
I like this as an appetizer, but it is a nice dessert, too.
