I used a blue shampoo this morning. What up with that? Blue? Who thought that would be a good color for a shampoo? I guess green packaging was once considered a no-no in the food world, but Nabisco shattered that rule with SnackWells.
Who's apartment did you wake up in this morning? ;) For me, it's not so much the color as it is the scent of today's shampoos that really turns me off. My girlfriend uses this Peaches and Cream shampoo and the smell makes me want to puke.
Likewise, who would have ever dreamed of pink pistols?
(Which, by the way, I think is fantastic!)
Speaking of green food, I picked up some odd-looking green dessert snacks at a Thai grocery over the weekend. They were very bright green, shaped like little pillows, and had a consistency somewhere between foam rubber and jello. There was a tan-colored filling in the middle. I bought them on a whim because they looked and felt so outrageous, but they were delicious and I'm hooked. Anyone know what these things are called? The woman behind the counter told me but I forgot.
Speaking of jello, that was the first green-colored food I remember eating, apart from, um, vegetables.
Like the Selsun Blue shampoo which really isn't blue once you open up the bottle.
Disgusting.
Green is not uncommon for food, as are red, yellow, and the variations between. Most fruits, vegetables, and grains are these colors.
In the advertising, the only rule about food packaging design is to stay away from blue. Apparently, there are few natural things you can eat that are blue - ergo, people tend to be reluctant to eat it. Aside from blueberries and some grapes, are there any natural blue foods?
there are all sorts of green foods available now that the hulk movie came out..

There is of course, Pepsi Blue and CoolBlue Gatorade. They're natural, right?
Isn't Windex blue to keep people from drinking it?
Does anyone remember the Ghostbusters' Slimer Gum? That stuff was pretty disgusting, but only partially because of it's green color.
Hurley #1:
I'm guessing you're talking about Mochi (at least I think that's the spelling.) It's like a little ball of icecream inside dough. I've had Green Tea Mochi before...they make many flavers also.
More Blue Foods:
Ore Ida Kool Blue Funky Fries (not natural)
Blue Corn tortilla chips (natural)
Some potatoes come naturally in blue too; I've grown them. They look prety cool in a potato salad.
I don't think that stuff I tried was mochi, by the way -- I've had mochi before and made some recipes with it, and the consistency of this stuff was much more gelatinous. I'll ask again next time I go to that shop; maybe it's just a different preparation of mochi.

Add red potatoes, and White ones and you've got patriotic potato salad. Well, patriotic for a couple of countries.
And, I don't recall what they are called, hurley #1, but I get something similar at the oriental grocery store. It is a rice cake with bean paste inside. The ones I get are red paste inside, but I have seen tan paste, too. I really like them, but they are an aquired taste due to the texture.
I guess I do, except for the very large sign on the store that says "Oriental Food Store."
PEOPLE are Asian, THINGS are Oriental. Sheesh ... if you're going to ride the Politically Correct Pony to death, you better get it right.
Why don't you go fire insulting e-mails at Dusty Baker?
Like that old song by Prince, "Little Blue Smurfett"

Dr. Bronner's All One Peppermint Pure-Castile Soap looks like moose piss but it's the most refreshing, invigorating soap on the market.

Nah, that distinction goes to Grandpa's Pine Tar soap, which makes you smell as if you've been sitting downwind of a campfire for three weeks, but also makes you feel like a million bucks.
