A New Server

28 Aug 2003 by

Announcement: Over the next 10 days or so, we’ll be moving the 37signals’ sites (including Signal vs. Noise, eNormicom, Design Not Found) to a brand new, fast dedicated server. So, please bear with us during the transition. We apologize in advance for any downtime.

Hey, come on Jason!

A site populated by geeks of one form or another and there's no details? Who? What? Why? Where? When? How?

Details dammit! ;)

So by saying "fast" you mean xserve?

No, we didn't go XSERVE.

As a potential Tilted customer, which hosting package do you currently have, and will you be co-locating your new server at their facility?

Does that mean that these sites have been hosted on shared hosting facilities until now?! Phew.

For the do-it-yourself kind of site-hosting, you might want to check out the Open-Bandwidth Project. If you've got a dedicated rack server, they've got the rack space for it -- for a lot less than what you'll find by signing your own rack space contract. I recently put my first dedicated server in one of their racks and it's been operating flawlessly.
