While I doubt the validity of this particular piece of evidence, I'm not surprised.

It could easily be explained as a "just in case" filing.

America. Where anyone can grow up to be president. Provided you are a member of either the Bush or Clinton family.

I am not a big fan of hers. I am pretty sure if she runs, she will win. Any New Yorkers care to comment on her performance in your state? I am really curious.

Am I misreading this Wired story, or did the same thing not occur in the 2000 election?

How can anyone seriously think she is running? She's denied it time after time after time after... if she did decide to run, she'd look awful for denying it for [date when she was elected Senator to today's date, in years /]. She needs to stay a senator for at least a term, maybe two. She needs to have a track record in politics, and being first lady doesn't count. In politician years, she's still fairly young. Everyone's rushing this IMO. Leave her alone. She'll certainly announce when she does decide to run, you'll certainly hear about it.

"and being first lady doesn't count"

Why not?

I think this is the thinking: Hypothetically let's say GWB wins in 2004, then he's out in 2008. This leaves the playing field wide open for both the Dem's and the Repubs... so then she runs and she will hold the strongest position out of the lineup. Highly likely.

If no documents appear below, the individual identified here has taken no action to become a candidate.

...And no docs were below.

Darrel, "first lady" is not an elected political office.

08 Oct 2003 | Darrel said...

I know that, Dan. But that doesn't seem to have any bearing on whether or not one is qualified to be president.

I agree that it is certainly a good idea to elect someone with some political experience, and I think that being first lady is certainly political experience.

That said, sometimes political experience is a bad thing ;o)

The statement was: "She needs to have a track record in politics, and being first lady doesn't count." Being first lady does not establish a political track record.

Being a senator does, but she's still in the middle of her first term.

I dunno. I'd argue that you can't get much more into politics than being first lady.

I think she is not running, its to late to announce her candidacy now, even if she is planning to make some clinton-clark or clark-clinton strategy.

I like Hillary Clinton. I think she has done a lot of good things for the State of New York and as first lady. She stands up for womens rights and does whats right for the economy. Unlike our President now who only cares about making the poor poorer and his rich friends richer. IF Hillary ran for President in any year I would vote for her.

GWB is slowly losing his base of support. He has only proved that there are many expendable service personnel in this country that will die for principles not built on any logic. Hillary Clinton can be the one that will work to bring this country to a new level of prosperity in America for the working class, not inflate the pocketbooks of the wealthiest. She has more intelligence than her husband and George W. put together. Hopefully, she won't wait until 2008 to spread her wings.

please please please hillary run for it and become president, safe your nation, safe the world from the war-hungry claws of stupid ignorant gwbush! The usa is not a bad country, but bush makes people think it is. he's ignoring your country's ideological basis of freedom and equality.

I have never voted for a president because I have wanted nothing to do with politics. But now, I would vote for Hillary Clinton just to help get Bush out of the white house.

I come from France and I sincerelly hope that Hillary Rodham Clinton will run for president because she's the best for this "job".

would the conservative press have a heyday with her 'pariah' status as 1st lady to the besieged bill c.? it does seem that a longer tenure as senator can only help to bolster her separation from whitehouse events circa 1992-2000...

Hillary will NOT run! She said so.

Just thinking about another four years with Bush and his lies and claiiming he's helping this country when he's really destroying our natural environment and ruining our economy and such...

It makes me want to vomit.

I'll be 18 by the time the 2004 elections take place, and I sincerely hope that Hillary Rodham Clinton will run for president. She knows how to run this country better than any Bush could... probably because she's intelligent, unlike the Bushy-Bush kids... and she's able to do the job. She's already helped NY out a lot in her Senate seat, and I look forward to her political career as the first woman president, I hope.

Hi folks. ...

Dont give a sh*t from where i come but take this prediction for the 2004 elections - Bush gets a kick on his butts....Its going to be a female president for the first time for the USA.....

Bush will fail for his own wrongdoings...and as per astrology, his career has come to an end as of Nov'2003....IRaq war will be a seen equivalent to the Vietnam war - which was the only war the USA lost...

Leading American billionaires are putting their money against Bush...
