The best comedy (show?) on TV is back for a 4th season starting January 4, 2004 on HBO.

Yay. I love this show.

it has its moments which are usually the wonderful circumstantial weavings of the characters lives, EXACTLY like Seinfeld. The individual jokes (and Larry David's acting), eh not so much.

Am I the only one to call "overrated" ?

I miss HBO.

I'm finding Fox's 'Arrested Development' quite original and rather genious for network television.

Curb Your Enthusiasm proves that Larry David was the true genius behind Seinfeld.

I'll second Arressted Development as the best thing on free TV!

Not to hijack the thread, but to go back to Arrested Development, that's Opie...er...Ron Howard narrating, isn't it? Is there more to that (is he producing it?)

Last season, particularly the last episode, was brilliant.

And while I love CYE, I find it to be uneven. The first season was great, it started to drag a bit in the second and third seasons, and last year's, as I said, was brill. When it hits, CYE is the funniest stuff ever put on TV. But, there are times where it doesn't quite hit, and it just becomes painful to watch.

Still, I think that's part of its charm. I appreciate that they're taking risks with the show. When you take risks, sometimes it's not going to work. But without the risks, you never hit the highs that they do.

It doesn't get any better when Larry David helps Crazy Eye Killer with his lyrics - telling him to take out the last motherf'er and replace with bitch.

Over here in the UK, the BBC carries Curb Your Enthusiasm on its BBC4 digital channel. I couldn't believe it when I saw its viewing figures the other day - only 19000 people watched the second episode. 19000! I dread to think how much the Beeb paid per viewer to get the series.

where can I buy that Indiana rhinestone fleece shirt?

14 Jan 2004 | bob said...

you know why the viewing figures are so low in the uk?
anti-semitism......
either that or a 'taste problem' with yr average bbc4 viewer....probably a combination of both......

the only thing worth having a tv set for...bar nothing...

life is hell for larry....and one of the classical images of hell is that it continues forever and ever............and ever......lets hope curb does......ill shit!!!!

If an application is designed well, the reward for users is that they will learn it faster, accomplish their daily tasks more easily, and have fewer questions for the help desk. As a developer of a well-designed application, your returns on that investment are more upgrade revenue, reduced tech support, better reviews, less documentation, and higher customer satisfaction. The rewards of building a good-looking Aqua application are worth taking the extra time.

This topic is one we will tackle later in this article, but it refers to making sure that your application and the dock aren't fighting it out for supremacy of the screen.
