I’ve owned this phone for just a few months and no longer need it. It’s in excellent condition and works on the Verizon network. Palm OS syncs via USB — even works perfectly with iSync and OS X. You can see more pictures and more details at the
ZDNet review. The phone sells for about $499 new. I’m asking $385 which includes the original box, manual, cables, and a car charger that is normally about $25 and a
Verizon-branded headset also worth about $30. If you are interested, please email me at jason [at] 37signals.com.
And, if you have any questions, please post them here so everyone can benefit from the answers. Thanks.
Fifty bucks, take it or leave it.
:)
(You'll come crawling to me next week, just you wait and see!)
Cigars, no one said anything about trading cigars....
$385 is reasonable or even good with the accessories.
Curious, why you are getting rid of it? My sense is that the bulky phone/PDA is hitting a very small niche. The benefits of a combined device are modest while the disadvantages substantial (size, usability and battery life mainly). The only one that looks slightly interesting is the Nokia 6800 which is first and foremost a phone, and, oh, by the way, it flips open to be a Blackberry with a small screen, too.
Switched carriers for business reasons.
The Kyocera is a solid phone. It can be a bit bulky when compared to simple phones, but for those who need to carry a palm device and a phone, you can't really beat it if you are on Verizon.
And, yeah, $385 is a good price. Just want the phone to find a good home for a reasonable price.
Jason -- good question. Actually, I was tempted to get a new phone, but I'm still happy with my trusty and proven Nokia 8210. It's small, light, and tough.
Besides ... part with my precious puros? NEVER! Well ... I *will* part with them ... via combustion! Yummmm ... think I'll head to the cigar bar later today, asamatteroffact.
:-)
My AT&T contract expired a year ago, and they've been mad after me to renew. I'm thinking it is about time to shop around. My decision will probably be phone-driven; something small, light, easy to carry in the pocket, nice ring tones, web would be nice, color (obviously) and prefer *NOT* a flip phone (not a requirement, a nice-to-have).
Ideas?
P.S. The Nokia 8910 has caught my eye!
P.P.S. ARGH! The 8910 won't work in the USA.
Hmmmm ... time to move to, say, Lichtenstein?
Has Nokia finally made it easier to change the ring volume? I think it's the only one that buried that in menus. Invariably if you hear a mobile ringing at the wrong time, you know it's a Nokia.
Don,
I have been using the Sony-Ericsson t616 for the last several monsth and it's what you're looking for.
Amazon has a crazy deal if you're fine with AT&T (I am). I paid over $200 for the same phone they're giving away.
Jason -- my $50 offer still stands. Until Friday noon Eastern Time!
:-)
Jason,
Will do buy it for $300 if you fedex it to me for delivery tomorrow. Need a phone this week. Call me to arrange for payment if you are interested, sorry but I erased your email.
Fifty dollars U.S. ... lookin' tempting, eh??? :-)
$51 - :D
I am switching from ATT to Verizon and am interested in this phone. I would be able to purchase this phone new from Verizon for $ 400 due to company discounts however they no longer sell it - pulled it from their stores and telesales due to considerable software and battery problems with the phone (they are not terribly specific on how bad these problems are). I was told yesterday that Kyocera is dumping the phone and coming out with the 7235 in a month or two. I can't even find a Verizon store which has one of these phones for me to view and hold !
Would you come down in price?
How about $ 325.00
I spoke with the folks at Kyocera and they said that it was a battery-life issue and that they were solving the problem and the phone should be available from Verizon again in 2-4 weeks. Maybe, this will be the Kyocera 7235 that Selwynp mentions. You should take the $325 now, I know I cannot do any better. Best of luck.
This topic is one we will tackle later in this article, but it refers to making sure that your application and the dock aren't fighting it out for supremacy of the screen.

I own this phone. Kyocera did a recall due to the phone having a tendency to erase everything on it. I live in Ga. and was in Ca. for buisness; being aware of the crappy battery life, I bought an extra battery. Anyways, I was talking to my boss on the phone and was just about to send him a fax from the phone when I noticed the battery was running low, so I swapped them. When the phone powered back up, my entire database was gone! Granted, I had my docs saved to the SD chip, but all my apps were gone so I had no way to access them. Sure, you can always re-sync and get everything back, but I bought the phone so I wouldnt have to lug a laptop/cradle everywhere I went. I wouldnt pay 200 bucks for this piece of crap.
