Hmm...politics dished up ala E! news.

This is either very good, or very pathetic. I can't quite decide.

I'm glad I'm not ugly. It must really suck.

Seriously. It SHOULD NOT mean anything ... but studies have been done and good-looking people get tons of breaks.

The world is a cruel place, ya know? Beauty can be lost in a heartbeat WHICH REMINDS ME ...

... ever experience the situation where, for example, a beautiful 16-year old girl is killed in a car accident, and people say "What a shame ... and she was so beautiful."

WTF? What ... so in other instances do they say "What a shame ... but not too much since she was, after all, pretty ugly"?

ARGH! Do we value beauty THAT much? Is it THAT important? So that explains our lack of respect for the older citizens; it's hard to be 80 and gorgeous.

Don, that's one of the funniest - and sadly true - things I've read in a long time.

It's expressed in other ways: the jock gets killed in a car accident, it's a tragedy. The carload of geeks he hit because he was driving drunk - they're no big deal. (And, yes, I'm referring to specific examples there.)
