Dean's Paper Blog

30 Jan 2004 by Jason Fried

The new DeanPost is an interesting (and smart) idea.

“DeanPost” is a Grassroots-created, weekly Hard Copy of the “Blog for America”. Share the excitement with your friends, relatives, co-workers, or your favorite Senior Citizen - anyone who isn’t Web savvy, or anyone who just might prefer the Blog in a convenient, digest form.

Taking the Dean For America blog offline. Sharp. They even let you customize the print version:

In addition to our standard, four-page digest, an exciting feature is that “DeanPost” can be customized for YOUR location: Simply type in your Zip Code, and “DeanPost” is delivered with your “Get Local” events in a convenient PDF format ready for printing.

Creative thinking.

Pretty cool.

Actually, there's a very good hidden agenda here; by providing this printed blog, Dean can underscore the "digital divide" and bring attention to his plans to close it.

Good move.

Makes you wonder what will happen to all of this infrastructure if (when?) Dean doesn't get the nomination.

It seems to me that while Dean has dipped significantly in the polls, the Internet side of his campaign seems to have taken a life of it own...

Yeah, but somebody let me know if they can actually get the Search function on deanforamerica.com to work for them. First things first.
