DozenHoles: I bet you'll find this handy

12 Apr 2004 by Jason Fried

How many times have you bet your friends and then someone doesn’t live up to their end because they either 1. claimed they never bet in the first place, or 2. forgot what the bet was, etc? Well, now you can use DozenHoles (from the makers of Babble) to “keep track of all the bets you make with friends, so you’ll never have to remember why Johnny owes you a dozen donuts or why you owe Jimmy a box of tangerines.”

Clearly there's a delicate balancing act occuring, but does the recent spate of self-promotion on this blog grate on on anyone? I don't mean to denigrate 37 Signals--I'm just curious what others think.

It is their site, and I don't remember them making any promise to not self-promote. At least when 37 Signals self promotes they are pointing us to quality work. The same can't be said of many other sites.

Note to the 37 Signals crew - MT Blacklist thinks "http" is questionable content. I'll pass on the obvious joke here :)

FYI, we didn't design this site. I just thought it was a neat idea and a useful site so I posted it.

Fixed. Thanks for spotting that.

I actually designed the site. And although I don't work for 37signals, their influence on me is strong. JF is the main reason I'm in this crazy world of web design. So I guess it's fair to say that 37signals indirectly designed the site. But I'm sure more than a few of us can admit to that, right?. ;)

It does have a 37signals look to it....it sure fooled me, but great job regardless

Even if it was self-promotion, it wouldn't have been grating at all.

Considering adding PayPal pay buttons for settlement? It's easy:

paypal.com/xclick/[email protected]&item_name=Pay+me!&amont=5.00

That's "amount=5.00"
