28 Jun 2004 by Jason Fried

Cold Stone Creamery is moving into Bucktown where Sorbino Men’s Wear was (which is next to Cheetah Gym and across from Piece). Can you say gold mine?

Be the funny one amongst your friends and call it "Stone Cold Steve Creamery".

"Stone Cold Steve Creamery" motto:

"Every girlfriend/wife bitch slapped with your order."

Good to know that Piece is still there, actually. Opened up just as I moved away, but I did get to visit a couple times and liked it a lot.

Cold Stone Creamery will probably do well there, even if the place pretty much tops my list of hype way outpacing actual quality (it and Krispy Kreme battle for the No. 1 spot on my list lately).

I made my first two visits to the new Stone Cold Creamery at Diversey & Clark twice yesterday. Stopped in there with a friend after the pride parade, and then ended up back there later that evening with friends after dinner.

I tried SCC once here in Sioux Falls and thought their ice cream was...chewy.

I had the Boston Cream Pie, and whenever I'd take a bite, I'd end up with this line of ice cream from the cone to my mouth, like a pizza with extra cheese. Strange. I haven't been back.

I like to make homemade ice cream at home. That fancy-pants stuff is usually loaded with way too much sugar and other candy. In the end, some good vanilla ice cream with just a trace of chocolate sauce is one of my (many) vices.
