While you're taking pics of the sunset, Joel Spolsky is taking a dig at you. Read his latest article. Search for "defensive design".

Wow. I hope it's not effect of pollution. Sorry, that's just my pessimistic mind talking.

Jason, thanks for sharing. I immediately set that as my desktop picture. What camera did you use? I never seem to be able to capture similar pics on my cheap digital :-)

That was my question as well... what camera?

The oranges are brilliant, I like them two the best.

Good eye!

A pretty sunset leads to the original night of the hunter. Find the actor who played Harry Powell in the CP movie archives.

Great eye, Jason. Sunset shots usually look cliche. These are charming. Cheers!

Holy Cow, I want my five minutes back!

That Joel Splosky article was a complete and utter (or should I say udder — ooh, bad play on your name) waste of time.

His ultimate conclusion, that over the next decade, software companies will hire people trained as anthropologists and ethnographers to work on social interface design, is a "prediction" that the various big buck research firms have been making for years.

As far as punditry goes, his point-of-view is neither original nor very interesting.

As for the topic at hand, man, beautiful photos!

Jason,

After seeing this picture and finding out which camera was used I read various reviews and was impressed enough to go out and buy one to use at my daughters birthday party at a skating rink tomorrow. Last night I played around with it some and was blown away by the clarity of the photos. What really struck me was the noise-free dark areas. I am so used to compact digital cameras and their noise in low light - this is like film! I was also impressed by the ability to take pictures back to back with almost no delay - the autofocus is very quick.

Anyway, thanks again for sharing the photo and inspiting me to give it a try :-)
