Who is David and what is Linux?

Ken Rossi : CivilNetizen.com 31 May 06

Many congrats. Well deserved.

Edmundo 31 May 06

David is h4wt. If I was a girl or gay, I’d be driving toward Chicago right now.

Nice shoot, guy.

JP 31 May 06

You would have thought the success of Rails would have made DHH a bit happier!

I want to see a full-on broad teeth baring grin in your next publicity shot please Mr Hansson.

Maybe he’d crack a smile if was on ground level, but he’s on top of a building, ya see. Gotta play it gangsta style.

Earl Moore : Meandering Passage 31 May 06

Congratulations…a nice honor and well deserved I’m sure.

Phil 31 May 06

Kind of odd if you ask me. DHH hasn’t used Linux in years according to his blog.

Nick Carlson 31 May 06

Many contrats.

Well deserved in my opinion.

jgwong 31 May 06

You look like Neo in that pose, David. ;)

Congratulations!

Marko 31 May 06

A smart guy with a passion for what he does - plus an excellent presenter.

Keep up the great work.

Hubris Sonic 31 May 06

He is totally high in that photo…

Dan Grossman 31 May 06

Congratulations. Quite an honor.

“Dude, flip down your collar, wipe that smirk off your face, and stop being such a Piv.”

Vishi Gondi 01 Jun 06

“You take the BLUE pill and the story ends.
You wake in your bed and you believe
whatever you want to believe.

You take the RED pill and you stay
in Wonderland, and I show you how
deep the rabbit-hole goes.”

dave lookin’ pretty hot. you could have been in zoolander with that model face!

Jon 01 Jun 06

Congrats David (+ co)!

Hermann Klinke 01 Jun 06

37signals, you should watch out. It seems as if David is looking for a new career: Model. This is not the first cover that features him…

Dan Grossman 01 Jun 06

Anyone else notice that after this story, the FeedBurner circulation for this blog went from 27,000 to 78,000?

JF 01 Jun 06

Yup. David just gave us his two week notice. He’s off to Milan to model for Zegna. It was fun while it lasted.

Dan Grossman 01 Jun 06

Forgot to mention that the number of hits to blog entries through FeedBurner only increased 5% since yesterday, while subscribers increased 65%. I think FB’s busted?

Mike 01 Jun 06

Only mass murderers and assassins go by 3 names.

Can I have a troll cap?

DHH 01 Jun 06

FD is indeed busted. Seems like it added 52k subscribers to both Loud Thinking and SvN. I don’t think article is THAT hot ;)

Engl Abusa 01 Jun 06

Rails is better then anything else. I use it daily, than I go off and use other softwares.

"D" 01 Jun 06

“TILLYKKE”

Kind of odd if you ask me. DHH hasnt used Linux in years according to his blog.

I’m not sure that is relevant. Linux probably powers the servers that most Rails apps run on. So what if DHH doesn’t use Linux as a desktop OS?

Ken Rossi : CivilNetizen.com 01 Jun 06

So is 78,633 the new 53,651?

Ken Rossi 01 Jun 06

yes, I jest…… bring out the troll cap……

Projects 01 Jun 06

Congratulations! Well deserved.

Phil 01 Jun 06

IIRC the folks at 37 Signals use FreeBSD on the server, so Linux isn’t there either. “You wrote software that a lot of other people use with Linux” is a rather tenuous link.

My guess is that the people at LinuxJournal don’t actually want to make a magazine that’s solely dedicated to a kernel, so I guess when you consider it that way it makes perfect sense.

Samo 02 Jun 06

Hehe, the opensource folks will milk DHH for what it’s worth. Imagine that - the author of a popular open source project and he even knows how to dress (and, most likely, what the word “deodorant” stands for!).

Yong Bakos 02 Jun 06

Hey DHH, what’s it like being an international playboy? You may make Jason jealous.

Hey wait… none of these posts are from women…
