The Reflex Tester. My high, so far, is 0.284 with no cheating/guessing. Yours?

Yes, that is good reflex tester smack.

0.20 is the best I can do by natural means. And it still says "could be better".

Then I turned my supernatural precognitive skills and managed to hit it almost precisely as it turned...0.03 "you have the reflexes of a snake"

0.24 for me. At least it shows I'm not dead.

09 Oct 2003 | Mark Fusco said...

0.22 was my best, however 0.231 was my average.

I managed 0.24 twice on deeppink, but a 0.21 and 0.23 on coral. Can colour affect your performance :)

0.18, accomplished honestly. At this level, the message is "nice."

09 Oct 2003 | Mark Fusco said...

Interesting thought on color performance - I scored pretty much a 0.24 average on all colors - except cadetblue, on which my average was .031

0.181
Which is 'Nice' apparently.

.008 - beat that

.234!

0.20. It helps to keep the "Stop" button held down, then release as soon as the background changes.

This reminds me of a gadget used in my driver's ed class. The light goes on, you hit the pedal, fastest time wins. If you weren't quick, the instructor, who preferred to be called "Mad Dog," would challenge you to one-armed push-ups.

Oh, best time is .203.

.25 for a full click and .18 for a half click (holding down stop if thats not cheating)

I am the One. I got a little nervous and bumped the mouse button once and landed squarely on a 0. The screen barely flickered pink. Keanu Reeves better watch out. My serious best score was a 0.24

First try was .391. But considering most human brains don't recognize a change (let alone react to it) until .250ms after the change, I think it is pretty good.

And I did it off-hand.

After the first try it is just a matter of learning as opposed to reacting.

Can't get less than 0.26 seconds.

I haven't experimented with the other color schemes though. I bet that's my problem! :)

09 Oct 2003 | Don Schenck said...

7.868. But I enjoyed every second.

No ... wait ... WRONG TIMED EVENT! :-)

Did I mentioned I'm buying back my old Spyder this evening? WOO-HOO!

09 Oct 2003 | Matthew Oliphant said...

How'd you manage that, Don?

09 Oct 2003 | Brad Hurley said...

Too bad there isn't a real-time online graph of global productivity; I bet you could see the dips each time Jason posts a new link to a game or other distraction.

Anyway, my reaction time seems to get worse with practice rather than better. Best real score was 0.26, though I hit 0.07 once when I imagined the color changing an instant before it did. I'll try it again tonight after a few beers.

0.20 seems to be the cut off between nice and could be better.

Matthew -- I was driving by the dealer (it's about 30 miles from my home) just by "chance" the other day and saw it on their lot. Checked their internet site and the VIN against my records, and lo and behold my baby is B-A-C-K!

Quick phone call and she's mine! Only 6,000 miles put on it since I sold it, and I'm getting a 6-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

And my daughter gets married this saturday!

Life is good; I'm reaching for a Padron 1964 Anniversario this weekend, to be sure!

0.171 on cadetblue following Andy's advice about holding down the stop button and letting go when the color changes.

09 Oct 2003 | pinder said...

i got 0 seconds almost 3 years ago.

09 Oct 2003 | Andrew said...

0.22, not bad but could be better.

I got .26 the on my first attempt--going back for more. Thanks for ensuring the rest of my day will be a total waste. My boss thanks you!

0.281 seconds. i only did it once in hopes to not get drawn in and addicted.

10 Oct 2003 | bah said...

I'm addicted.

.187! yay!

10 Oct 2003 | Abhi said...

0.17. This is very addictive. :)

get under 0.18 quite constantly using the keyboard, which is a proof that you can work faster without mouse (tho i love my wireless optical explorer)

10 Oct 2003 | asd said...

0.1 :-)

10 Oct 2003 | Brian Peddle said...

0.01 I hit start and slide to stop right away. I didn't even see a color change .... pure luck. I need to work on the 0. 0.26 on a 'real' try.

11 Oct 2003 | YoungHistorians said...

0.234 for me :)

Spyder Update:

Dealer called me 20 minutes before I was to leave and they said the needed another $800 to complete the deal! CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS CRAP?

I told them to forget the whole thing. Integrity is more important than a car, no matter which end you're on. I will NOT reward this type of activity.

Next up: Shopping for a new one, *perhaps*. :-)

13 Oct 2003 | Joe Trip said...

Probably averaged .24 (can't say how many times), but managed to score an .03 once.

14 Oct 2003 | Ella said...

mine was 0.05 i don't know how it happened!!

14 Oct 2003 | Don Schenck said...

Hey, after speaking with the owner of the dealership, they "came around".

I GOT IT BACK!

16 Oct 2003 | pixelkitty said...

Holding stop down then releasing: 0.10 seconds but I think that's cheating.

Doing it the normal way: 0.21 - with an average over 20 tries of 0.24

Im happy with that :)

23 Oct 2003 | Bubber said...

0.191 - considered nice - took 3 tries

23 Oct 2003 | trippy said...

Well, almost got a palendrome for my time, started it when I was reading this....393.396 seconds

Top notch.
