Please join us this Thursday, September 11 at 11am central for the next edition of 37signals Live.
This show’s topic will be “The Starting Line: From Idea to Execution”. How do you start your business? How do you take that idea you had and actually do something with it? How do you get from thought to action? How do you deal with business plans and projections and all that stuff you’re supposed to do when you get started. Do you hire people? Do you design business cards? All that good stuff.
We look forward to seeing you for 37signals Live this Thursday!

on 09 Sep 08Will this be recorded? Because I’d love to see it, but I’m in school from 7:40-2:56 :-).
It’d be great if you guys would do one of these on a weekend or in the evening; a lot more people would be able to attend…

on 10 Sep 08Not trying to make any kind of political statement here. But it was a little weird to see an event titled “The Starting Line: From Idea to Execution” on September 11th…

on 10 Sep 08Chadd…not sure how that has anything to do with 9/11, but…

on 11 Sep 08@nathan: I think Chadd is referring to the defeat of the English by the William Wallace led Scots in 1297.

on 11 Sep 08Hey guys, I’m kind of listening to this in a background tab and sometimes I lose track of the conversation. I think it’d be useful if you could show which question you’re currently dealing with somewhere on the page as you go off on small rants sometimes and I have no clue what the context is. Thanks & good work!

on 11 Sep 08oh now! missed. again. I was stuck in the bus riding towards home.

on 12 Sep 08Nice session but I have the feeling that you guys repeat yourselves quite a lot. This time it looked like a show for 37signals wannabes! How about discussing subjects that you have never talked about. Subjects in which you ban the word money, business and server. Focus on bringing fresh content to give your show value.

We asked people to submit subjects for future shows. I don’t see one in your comment. What’s your show topic suggestion?

on 12 Sep 08Like others, I was unable to make the live broadcast but would love to view a recorded archive if it is available.

on 12 Sep 08I’m dumb and thought the broadcast was today instead of yesterday (you know when you get a date of an event in your head and you keep telling yourself it’s that date, and it turns out it’s not?!). So I would be highly interested in a recording of the broadcast or even a transcript.

on 12 Sep 08The archives are always available.

on 12 Sep 08ep: your response is typical of someone who only thinks about themselves. People are asking 37signals these questions. That means people want to know the answers. They may be repeating themselves to you cause you’ve heard it before, but these answers are brand new to the people who are asking the questions. You aren’t everyone.

on 12 Sep 08J, not at all, I just don’t see the point to watch a live session of static video showing what already exists in a book and all over this blog. Bringing fresh content by using another medium implies that you explore other fields and angles.
JF, I didn’t suggest any topics because I don’t see any for your present configuration. Personnally I would like to see and hear the others in the team, see you discuss the same topics with a guest philosopher or mad scientist, attend to one of your internal meetings, see you take position on something other than yourselves taken from the news, a competitor, a customer or a partner. It’s your show, surprise us.
Don’t punch me, I’m a fan and really appreciate all this. Don’t see criticism as bad.

on 16 Sep 08I felt this session did contain fresh ideas and twists on previous material; good stuff.
I caught the reference to the Blue Snowball mic, but what was the camera you mentioned? Looked fantastic…I can’t seem to shake the film noir / bad-’70s-TV- programming-look no matter how I adjust my own lighting, so this would be a great help. Thanks in advance.
