Perhaps an online identity/business

crowded but…)
Based on the moneylike pattern in the background, I’m going to take a risk and assume it’s something financially focused. I seriously doubt it’s a Mint.com competitor, so it’s maybe an invoicing product? Sure there’s already a bunch that tie-in with 37s’ products, but why not one that REALLY ties-in?
Either that, or you’re planning on opening your own credit union.

CFD – computational fluid dynamics study of the dynamics of things that flow. Using CFD, you can build a computational model that represents a system or device that you want to study. Then you apply the fluid flow physics and chemistry to this virtual prototype, and the software will output a prediction of the fluid dynamics and related physical phenomena.
In other words, your book cover???

Guys, come one. It’s a 292px ×155px .PNG file! Hosted on S3 Amazon!
While this could be the background for something on the iPhone, but I don’t think they’d show this to us in landscape view if it were to be an app—plus they wouldn’t have webbing in the background on an app.
By going landscape view and showing the webbing—I’m thinking this is actually much closer to a real finished product. And that product, like Fred said, is an iPhone skin with their logo on it. And whoever guesses that in the thread ought to get a free one!
Looks like a virtual business card to me. Could be something web based involving OpenID and microformats to unify 37signals accounts over all products.

A unified billing system. I’m guessing something 37s already uses internally to track billing across all of their applications.
Something perhaps referenced at the bottom of this post from December: http://37signals.com/svn/posts/753-ask-37signals-how-do-you-process-credit-cards
“We’ve also recently started a major conversion of our internal systems to a centralized billing system. In the past each product had its own internal billing engine. Today we’re centralizing this. We’re essentially building an internal web service that our other products can talk to when they need to charge a card.”
My guess is that it’s a hollywood launch step 1 teaser (http://gettingreal.37signals.com/ch13_Hollywood_Launch.php). Exciting to watch getting real in action.
A parsley chopper made from a new an innovative composite material: hard plastic intertwined with undulating strands of titanium for added strength and discrete cutting foci. The card’s sharpness can be restored with a regular knife steel giving you countless (1,356) hours of actual parsley cutting joytime!
WARNING: While this fits in your wallet for added portability, it might chop your fingers off when you pry out other items.
Business cards with this aspect ratio of 1.88 would look even odder than Eastern European cards specified at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_card#Dimensions.
Neither is it a golden rectangle (1.618) symbolizing golden products by 37s.
I second the parsley chopper idea—my short-term memory in a thread like this is only a few inches tall.
