We’re looking to hire a junior system administrator to help manage our growing infrastructure. Have a look at the jobs board posting if you think you might fit the bill.
You’re reading Signal v. Noise, a publication about the web by Basecamp since 1999. Happy !

on 06 Jan 10Holy cow you guys hire a lot.
I’m calling this the “37signals stimulus package” ... where you hire ever unemployed IT person out there.

on 06 Jan 10I know I am not the strongest candidate for the position, but I would do absolutely anything to work for you guys. If I must off my family, so be it. I will sort of miss them but I’m sure I can get over that quickly enough because I would be working for you! ;)

on 06 Jan 10Just FYI, at the top of this post the link in “This is Signal vs. Noise, a weblog by 37signals about design,...” points to the admin panel.

You definitely know you have a cult following when people like @Edwin state in their post that they’d kill their family to get a chance to work for you.
Scary. Seriously.

on 06 Jan 10Oh come on anonymous, we all know it was a jest.

on 06 Jan 10Hello. I know you get a lot of these and it probably seems nearly impossible, but I’d like to offer you a slice of my free time to make some simple remote work for you just to make myself feel better.

on 08 Jan 10Hey uh there are several grammar errors in that job posting (e.g. “You should experience”). I suppose a sysadmin needn’t be good at the english, but still, shouldn’t a job posting be putting your best foot forward and all that? In the same way that a job interview is bidirectional, don’t you risk turning off good, high-attention-to-detail candidates this way?
