Anonymous: why would 37signals create a mock-up app? Ryan’s gone so far as to make a mockery of mock-up apps saying he “doesn’t get” Balsamiq and layering on disdain to those that use such tools.

How about a mock-up of the icon itself…?

If there’s an iOS app in the works, then hopefully there’s going to be an Android equivalent too…

Ryan was just really proud of his squiggly line and wanted to point it out to all of us with a big red arrow.

Is he trying to point out the change in line thickness in the squiggly line?
I remember when I found out that Ryan didn’t like Balsamiq. I love Balsamiq, and was surprised he didn’t dig it. But I have to deal with external clients, and he most likely doesn’t…
To me it fits so nicely between “paper towel sketch” and “mockup that looks so real that the client thinks it’s functional and question why it’s going to take 3 more weeks…” It’s a rare client that can look past the paper to appreciate the speed (and cost-saving) of paper prototyping.
But if you can do paper-only, and don’t have to impress or educate anyone, then nothing is better than paper prototyping…

on 09 Jun 10Hmm, based on all the Objective-C tweets from Jamis, sounds like a new iOS app is on the way.

on 09 Jun 10Looks like the icon for a 37signals-created iPad app for mocking things up.

on 10 Jun 10@Scott I would guess it’s not a “mockup” app, but some kind of digital sketching app
