Looks like the same “fakey-fizziks” animation that ruined all the Star Wars I – III scenes with droids and Jar Jar. Very few movies have been able to capture the physics of virtual “hand-to-hand” interaction ….
While the movie didn’t do well financially, the CG was actually very good for the most part, and the story while simple was well done. This was more a marketing and subject flop vs an animation/story flop. It was great to see his process.

Very nice to see the process. Would be great to see the actual animating process in the 3D software.
Victor, doesn’t look fakey-fizziks at all to me.

Why are so many alien races bipedal? Had they not been so human-like, the artists could have developed new types of movements, thus not to be compared with our expectations of how humans move. Outside of that, they would have been better off putting motion capture suits on actors, like Lord of the Rings did with Gollum.

on 03 Jul 12This is an interesting clip on how NOT to create a successful animated movie.
FYI … Disney officially announcing John Carter was a failure and writes off $200 million losses.
