Customers don’t just buy a product — they switch from something else. And customers don’t just leave a product — they switch to something else.
It’s in these switching moments that the deepest customer insights can be found.
On the 1st of October, a select group of 24 people will attend a unique, hands-on, full-day workshop to learn about “The Switch”.
Most businesses don’t know the real reasons why people switch to — or from — their products. We’ll teach you how to find out.
The workshop will be at the 37signals office in Chicago. The cost to attend is $1000. The workshop will be led by 37signals and The Rewired Group.
You’ll participate in live customer interviews.
You’ll learn new techniques for unearthing the deep insights that most companies never bother to dig up.
You’ll understand why people switch from one product to another and how you can increase the odds that the switch goes your way.
And you’ll be able to put everything you learned to immediate use.
There’s only one simple requirement: You’ll be asked to bring something with you. It won’t be a big deal. Details will be provided one week before the workshop.
Spots are limited. Only 24 people will be able to attend and participate.
If you really want to know why customers are switching to — or away — from your product, attend. If you’re only mildly interested, skip it to make room for someone else.
Want to be one of the 24? Register now.

on 10 Aug 12This is an interesting line to put into the advertisement for this and one that I think is unnecessary. I doubt anyone that is only “mildly” interested would pop $1,000 for this. But, I may be wrong.

on 10 Aug 12@JGM – are you a bad enough dude to attend our workshop?
Jimmy
on 10 Aug 121000 bucks? Are you kidding?
JGM
on 10 Aug 12@heist, I am bad enough.
As far as attending, I don’t work on a product, only services, so for me I am not sure it would be worth attending. You could say my services are a product, but this ad does not give me enough information to go on.
If I had a product I would definitely be willing to pop a grand to go. But, my point was the price point will weed out anyone mildly interested, so there is no need to put a line about it in the ad.

on 10 Aug 12JGM: Product or services it doesn’t matter. If you sell something to customers, this workshop is for you.

on 10 Aug 12This is a no brainer. Probably best $1000 I ever spend. Booked!

on 10 Aug 12Question. Is this meeting appropriate for SaaS solution adoption on the enterprise level (i.e. not a single person or small company as client)? We have complex, long business cycle in the enterprise space. I’m curious if the topics covered would be applicable to the enterprise sales cycle.
JF
on 10 Aug 12John: Absolutely. This is about understanding the forces that drive people to buy (“switch”) regardless of who they are and what they do. It’s industry and size agnostic.

on 11 Aug 12JF: Starts at 9 AM, ends at what time? Anything going on in the evening after?

on 13 Aug 12Another good rule of thumb is:
People don’t buy price, they buy value.
Be peaceful,

on 13 Aug 12At the end of the workshop, everybody goes out on the streets of Chicago to try to sell 37Water for $1000/bottle. No, wait, that’s the apprentice…
Michael
on 13 Aug 12Chad: it’s called Fried Ice.

on 15 Aug 12The workshop looks great, wish I could get there. I’m hoping that you share a few ‘secrets’ with us from it so anyone unable to make it can benefit from The Switch.
