You think that’s bad, imagine what it was like 20 years before that. It’s a disgusting interview, and I imagine Zappa’s patience are very well developed. Awesome video

You’re assuming things move forward—that people gain more respect for civil liberties and the hard arguments, and less reactionary and sound-bite driven.
I see no particular reason to suppose that is true.

Lofton provides a very early instance of Godwin’s law: when you run out of intelligent things to say, compare your opponent to Hitler.
