Metcheck
Melissa Fehr writes: I always use Metcheck.com as my preferred weather site (better than the BBC and all the American sites combined) and I discovered a new feature today that’s so practical that I thought I’d send it over to you. It’s their BBQ forecast, which checks the temperature, cloud cover, and precipitation for the next few days and tells you the likelihood of having a good BBQ (with a nice option to email invites around to your friends, with helpful suggestions like “bring loads of beer”).
Prime Time Window Cleaning
Prime Time Window Cleaning has a nifty quote calculator built right into the sidebar.
Great timeline in the sidebar of the “enroll now” at Lifelock. Really puts a potential customer at ease and sets expectations nicely. Click for full sidebar.

on 08 Aug 07Should it be called a BBQ? I mean, technically, BBQ is smoked meat, not grilled meat, right? If someone is throwing burgers on a grill, I’d call it a cook-out.

on 08 Aug 07I’ve given up arguing about the use of BBQ. Northerners just dont seem to get it.

on 08 Aug 07Does anybody know of any well designed US weather forecasting sites?
Alejandro Moreno
on 08 Aug 07I couldn’t agree with you more, Luna. But apparently that’s what BBQ stands for in the U.S. and Canada.

on 08 Aug 07Since you’re cooking the burgers on a BBQ, then I don’t think calling it BBQ, is that far off…
Then again, apparently I don’t “get it”

on 08 Aug 07It’s just a language thing: “BBQ” in the UK is equivalent to ‘grill’ in the US.
A ‘grill’ in the UK is a ‘broiler’ in the US.
Oh, and 14C is about 57F.

on 13 Aug 07@Luna: why is barbeque “technically” smoked meat?
I thought it originated in the carribbean for “a grill for cooking meat consisting of a wooden platform resting on sticks.”
Luna
on 13 Aug 07Apparently, Barbecueis simultaneously a type of food, a method for cooking food, a cooking apparatus (mostly indirect heat, except in Australia and G.B.), and a flavor (for sauces and potato chips).
