How is it that our past presidents are so much smarter than our current presidents? Aren’t humans supposed to be advancing in Intelligence??

@Justin: “The system” realized it was all about marketing, so we stopped electing statesmen and started electing politicians. “The industries” realized they could manipulate the markets through government policies, so they fed money to puppet candidates and funded mudslinging against any rivals.
In all of Congress and the Administration, there are maybe two classic statesmen: Ron Paul and Russ Feingold.

Great quote, how many times have I released a patch that made a bigger mess than the original hole? It’s a good thing we can learn from our mistakes…

@jon: Hah, maybe so. That would still be depressing, since it would say quite a lot about the target of marketing, the “common man”.
