Logbook is the first product from “Transmissions”, a group that is building Mac OS companion apps for our products.
Logbook allows you to keep your Backpack Journal updated from your Mac menu bar. You can update your status and log journal entries without having to log into Backpack. Logbook is $12.99.
It’s slick and very well executed. I’ve been using it for a while and it’s really encouraged me to keep my journal updated. We’re excited to see what other apps they cook up that work with our products.

They’re running an exclusive promotion for Signal vs. Noise readers: They will give away 10 licenses, chosen at random, for readers who email [email protected] with the subject “SvsN Contest”. Good luck!

on 09 Oct 08So… I thought the company was called Signalapps? I wonder what prompted the change. Metalab designs are really doing some nice stuff these days.

on 09 Oct 08Looks like a fantastic app. Sadly $13 probably feels to steep for a lot of people. People like to pay $1-$5 for one-trick ponies, I think…

on 09 Oct 08That “to” instead of “too” is going to haunt me for the rest of the day.

on 09 Oct 08Cameron: We asked them to change their name because of trademark issues. It was confusing to people.
They were totally cool about it and changed in a few days. All is well now.

on 09 Oct 08@JF – makes sense, that’s probably a good idea.

on 09 Oct 08I would like to see the iphone version of this app. Not always working in front of mac, would be lovely to log in errands.

on 09 Oct 08Looks like a great app. It will be interesting to see what else they come out with to compliment the web apps. I would love to see something for Basecamp since that is what I spend the most time in. What I would love more is for someone to put together an iPhone app or web based version of Basecamp for easy access on the go.

on 09 Oct 08I like this idea a lot as well, but I agree with Greg. $13 seems a bit high, especially when there are free widgets that basically do the same thing.
This is nicely done however.

Cameron: Thanks! Just MetaLab actually, not Metalab designs. :-)
