on 04 May 10My question is for the Design team. How important is a designer to the success of a product? Do you think a developer could be a good designer or vice versa?

on 04 May 10For the design team – It seems your designs have always been quite minimalist and you avoid framing in the sites with solid borders and everything is sort of laid out in blocks going down the page. Do you feel that the simpler you make the designs for the various product sites, the better they convert?

- have you ever felt “limited” by the possibility of HTML (compared to native app), how do you approach that: simplify until it reaches something “easy” to do with actual technology or trying to tweak and distort and use coders genius to make great things ?
- are you designers or designer / htmlcsscoders. When does the actual “coding” of a layout starts to emerge : really early or try to avoid this in the first place to be focused on pure ideas.
- HTML 5 seems promising, what will be the “trigger” for 37signals to start coding site using the new functionalities it provides? By the way, do you think html5 will make YOUR life at 37signals easier?

on 07 May 10How do you fit many informations into one little spot? In my software I have only a quarter of the screen for a list with about 10 columns with information absolutely needed to work with. Whats your preference tooltips or scrollbars? (I know less information needed would be the best)
