Celebrating the release of Rails 3, the Ruby on Rails community raised almost $40,000 to give clean water to 1,800 people. Scott, the founder of charity:water, sent this thank you video to the community from the Central African Republic while waiting with the Bayaka people for the rain to clear.

Proably Rails is the first web framework which is both awesome and socially devoted to help others with basic needs such as water.
