What better way to help people choose the right handle or knob, than to actually require them to use it in order to add it to their cart? (Seen at a local hardware store.)
You’re reading Signal v. Noise, a publication about the web by Basecamp since 1999. Happy !

on 13 Sep 11Anyone else notice the weird optical illusion when scrolling the page down. </motionsickness>

on 13 Sep 11That is insanely smart.
Now, how do I incorporate that idea into my business? Give the customer the ability to “try it” as they “buy it”.
Something I’ll be thinking about.

on 13 Sep 11@Sean – Me too, I actually check to see if I was zooming the page by mistake.
@Alex – It is smart, but it’s actually not uncommon for handles/knobs, although you don’t always have to use it to take one – sometimes it’s just mounted on the front of the bin.
Joe
on 13 Sep 11@sean – That is a cool illusion.

on 14 Sep 11I was at home depot buying handles for my wife’s scrapbook cabinet the other day. Seeing this felt like Deja Vu.
