Did you know we have an email newsletter that we send out about once a month? The newsletter is a summary of popular posts on SvN, new product feature highlights, links to things we find interesting, and other stuff.
We don’t sell, trade, publish, or otherwise abuse your email address. That wouldn’t be cool.
To sign up just enter your email address:

on 27 Feb 08Just curious: what software are you using to run the newsletter? Home built or off the shelf?

on 27 Feb 08Why not just post it in this blog, I’d like to see the content but I’mtrying to minimize my emails.

Because a lot of people don’t read blogs. They read emails that show up in their inbox once a month or so. A huge portion of our newsletter audience doesn’t read our blog.

on 27 Feb 08We use Campaign Monitor to send emails. It’s a really beautifully designed product that really pays attention to all the little the details.
Mike, if you read this blog everyday you know what’s going out in the emailers. We just offer it for those who prefer to get an occasional email instead.

I already get your newsletter and read it since I know it is worth my time. Kudos on the Wired story. I use Backpack more and more for both personal and business needs. Regarding the upgraded ‘Backpack’, I like the new features and thought about opening a separate account for my Just Over 50 and Not Dead Yet panel at South by Southwest Interactive on March 8 (11:30 am). What stopped me was the price as I would only use this new account for a couple of weeks. It would have been a neat place for my 4 co panelists and myself to share materials and practical details on our presentation. Our panel will address the fact that the online world is not populated only by 20 somethings and how artists and companies can benefit by reaching out to early boomers there.
See you in Austin

on 27 Feb 08Campaign monitor rocks.
My question is : will the newsletter have different information than what I already get in the rss feeds?

on 27 Feb 08Jakob Nielsen always harps on the fact that email is still a very effective form of marketing/communication in spite of all the blagoblag Web 2.0 interweb stuff.

on 28 Feb 08Emphatically seconding the Campaign Monitor recommendation. I’ve been using CM for about two years, and not only is it an effective and easy-to-use service, but the people who run it are extremely friendly and responsive. And they keep adding great features to it without bulking it up in the process.
