The missing iCal calendar
The US Holidays iCal is great but I wish there was an iCal for things that aren’t really holidays but that everyone stops to “celebrate.” Like the Super Bowl, the Oscars, presidential debates, etc. Basically, a calendar that will tell you “if you’re planning on scheduling an event, avoid this night.”

on 07 Nov 08One would expect such a “special occasion” calendar to exist, and be more important than Musicians’ Birthdays. But no.

on 07 Nov 08I love this idea… a “Zeitgeist” or “Water cooler” calendar…

on 07 Nov 08This would definitely be a handy addition to the standard holidays calendar.

on 08 Nov 08You know you could just make one… upload to iCalshare, sorted.

on 08 Nov 08The challenge, you’ll find, is finding events that are truly universal, at least to your intended audience. There is no singular Zeitgeist, and there’s such a panoply of events (e.g. award nights) and such media hype surrounding all of them that filling your calendar with all of them would rule out every night.
Character Survey -> iCal would be one way to go. A Tivo like approach would be another.

on 10 Nov 08That’s only because you haven’t met me yet. I’m a singular zeitgeist.
