Did you know there are a lot of third-party products that integrate with Basecamp?
From time trackers to billing to mobile apps to widgets… And there are more on the way. Stay tuned!
You can extend your own product to work with Basecamp by using the Basecamp API.
Thanks to everyone who’s put in the time to make their product work well with Basecamp. Our customers really do appreciate it.

on 09 Apr 07Let’s hope that Apple opens up the iPhone to 3rd party widgets so I can maintain my backpack/basecamp w/o having to pinch a website in the browser.

on 10 Apr 07Missing from the page is Spoiltchild’s Basecode. We use it every day. Basecamp message posts and comments are crippled without it. Basecode 2 is underway, but information from the folks at Spoiltchild is presently hard to come by. Check it out no your own and pursue additional information.

on 10 Apr 07We should have our basecamp integration done for the live version of our app. LessAccounting.com ...along with freshbooks, blinksale and tickspot integration.
Basecamp has saved me from a stress related heart attack this year. God Bless 37signals.

on 10 Apr 07I wanted to send you guys an email telling you this, but couldn’t find a place, so I’m posting it on the blog.
Let me know if you have a place for users to talk about how they are using your programs.
First of all, I LOVE YOUR programs. I’m finally getting organized thanks to BackPack and I’m using Basecamp to manage the data for my attorney coaching program!
Anyway, I wanted to tell you about my definition of a Ta-da list. Here it is:
Ta-Da List: it’s like a to-do list, but with a to-do list I’m focused on all that I need to get done; I get overwhelmed and exhausted by my to-do list. With a Ta-Da List I’m focused on my objective and the next step I need to take to get there; I feel excited and energized.
Thanks 37 Signals!

on 10 Apr 07I have a very specialized rails app that is coming out soon (now I just need a CSS designer :-S) which would be totally useless (well almost) if it wasnt for its integration with Basecamp.
The API allows us to create applications that wouldnt justify themselves if they were alone but taken in a package, they are suddently useful.
Cant wait for the HR API too!

on 10 Apr 07Thank you, 37Signals, for releasing a great API for a great product!
I would echo Luke’s sentiment—I really hope that I’ll be able to access Basecamp info on an iPhone. My cell contract is up in June so that would help justify the hefty iPhone cost as a “business expense”.
For Basecamp users of QuickBooks, here’s a screencast demo of what I’ll be releasing soon:

on 10 Apr 07Team 37… do you use any of these apps?
George
on 10 Apr 07Yep, we’ve tried to use your API to build a real nice app but we’ve emailed you several times for help which can’t be found on your forum and you fail to reply. Perhaps your API needs better documentation.

on 10 Apr 07Hey Jason what about that other invoicing, time tracking, and estimate system link on that page?

on 11 Apr 07I’m having trouble finding the terms and conditions for the api… help?

on 11 Apr 07Ok, we have a version of the Basecode2 Firefox extension available. You can find it at http://www.toddle.ie/basecode2/

on 11 Apr 07The API has been great for building a real ecosystem around Basecamp!
Basecamp’s success has come from having a superior service offered via software online that customers find tremendous value in—value that exceeds that of bloated project management tools that crowd all manner of tools into that have ever been mentioned in arcane users’ focus groups.
Carry the Day has been building TrailBlazer, a mobile Basecamp integration solution, first for Windows Mobile—though others to follow, and we’ve been very pleased with the access/functionality provided via the API. Kudos to 37signals for providing this means for customers to seek additional functionality and for other businesses to provide dynamic growth that can extend 37signals’ reach into markets they might otherwise not reach.
We are currently in beta phase for TrailBlazer, for Basecamp.
